Privacy Policy

How PAN MITRA handles account, customer, KYC, payment and device information in our website and Pan Mitra app.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how PAN MITRA handles personal information through panmitra.com and the Pan Mitra mobile app. It covers registered users, retailers, distributors, people whose applications they submit, and people who contact us. PAN MITRA is the business responsible for its platform; contact details appear below.

Our services include PAN applications, PAN detail checks, UTI coupons and portal balance purchases, mobile and DTH recharge, FASTag recharge, electricity bill payments, insurance redirects, account management and adding money through payment gateways.

Provide only information needed for your selected service. Never send your password, OTP, UPI PIN, CVV or full payment-card details to support.

3. How each service handles information

  • Offline PAN through UTI and SmartNSDL Offline PAN: customer details and documents are sent to PAN MITRA's backend for review and application submission through the relevant UTI/NSDL processing channel. These services involve PAN MITRA handling customer data; they are not simply external links.
  • NSDL eKYC: the app opens the provider's hosted module. Information entered, files submitted, location allowed and authentication completed in that module are processed by the relevant provider. PAN MITRA also processes initiation, payment, reference and status information needed to manage the request.
  • UTI coupon/portal wallet purchase: account identifiers, purchase amounts and transaction references are used to arrange the purchase and support subsequent applications on the UTI portal.
  • Recharge and bills: service identifiers and transaction details are sent through the relevant API/service provider to the operator or biller.
  • Vehicle insurance: the selected insurance module opens a third-party service. The provider handles the proposal, underwriting, policy issuance and claims under its own notices. We process information needed to initiate the redirect and support our part of the service.
  • Find PAN/details check: the supplied identifiers are sent to the backend/API provider to return the requested result. Use this service only for yourself or for someone who has authorized the specific request.
  • User creation and management: permitted account administrators can create and manage users within their assigned network. Relevant profile, account and service information is visible according to their access role.

4. Phone permissions and local storage

  • Contacts: the recharge contact picker lets you choose a phone number instead of typing it. The selected recharge number is sent for the recharge you submit. The current app flow does not upload the whole address book.
  • Location: the NSDL eKYC WebView can request approximate or precise device location for the provider's verification flow after Android permission is granted. This is not a background-location feature.
  • Photos, camera and files: when you select or capture a document, photograph or signature for KYC/PAN, the chosen file is uploaded for that request. Denying access can prevent that upload.
  • Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging and Android notifications deliver account/service updates. You can disable notifications in device settings.
  • Biometric app lock: fingerprint/face or device authentication is performed by the operating system. PAN MITRA receives an authentication result, not your fingerprint or face template.
  • Local storage and WebViews: app preferences and session information help maintain sign-in and settings. Hosted modules use cookies and browser storage, including third-party cookies needed by their flows.

You can review permissions in your device settings. Permission withdrawal affects the relevant feature; it does not itself delete information already submitted.

5. Recipients and third-party services

Information necessary for the requested service is handled by PAN MITRA staff and service providers, including PAN processing channels and intermediaries, verification/API providers, recharge operators and billers, payment gateways and banks, insurance providers, hosting providers and Google Firebase for push messaging. Account managers receive information within their assigned user-management role.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or a valid legal request, or as necessary to investigate fraud and protect users. We do not sell personal and sensitive user data.

External services have their own privacy notices. Review the provider and destination before entering information in a redirected module. A redirect does not remove PAN MITRA's responsibility for the data it collects or shares.

6. Payments and security

Payment authorization is completed with the payment gateway, bank or UPI app. PAN MITRA uses payment references, status and reconciliation information to credit your account. Do not provide card security codes, banking passwords or UPI PINs to PAN MITRA staff.

The app connects to PAN MITRA over HTTPS. Protect your device and login details, and contact us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. No internet system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

Account information is used while your account is active. Application documents and service records are retained for processing, support and dispute resolution. Payment, accounting, identity-verification and fraud-related records may need to be retained after closure where a specific legal obligation or unresolved transaction requires it.

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data through our Delete Account & Data page. We review the records associated with your request, delete information no longer required, and explain any retained categories, the reason and the applicable retention period in our response. Retention for a legal obligation does not authorize unrelated use of the retained information.

Government bodies and independent service providers may retain records under their own obligations. For data held on our behalf, deletion requests must also be addressed with the relevant processor. Backup handling and any remaining retention restrictions are included in the deletion review.

8. Your choices and customer authorization

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent or a review of a privacy concern. We may verify your control of the account before acting. Some information is necessary to complete a service; withdrawing permission may stop an uncompleted request without undoing processing already lawfully performed.

Retailers and distributors must explain the service and data sharing to their customers and obtain their authorization before collecting documents, submitting applications or checking PAN details. Creating an account does not grant permission to look up other people. A customer can contact PAN MITRA even if an agent submitted the request.

Account holders must be adults able to enter into an agreement. A PAN application for a minor must be submitted by an appropriately authorized adult with the required parent/guardian details. The app is not intended for children to register independently.
